I'm very pleased to have found this forum. We have a mixed flock and are a bit puzzled why they are not re-starting to lay after having had a 3 month long break.

First of all welcome to the forum. I am in timaru and the first of mine are just starting to lay. The rest look like they are about to start.

Hi Muffin, and welcome to the forum. We are still only getting a few eggs, and most of the chickens haven't re-started laying again, so it may be that you just need to give them a little bit more time.

What breed are your hens? Do they have nice bright red combs yet, or are they still a bit paler pink. Bright red indicates they should be laying, or almost about to start, so if they are all red it might be worth having a look around to see if they are hiding eggs anywhere, otherwise, just give them a bit more time and they should start up again soon.
